In short: Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) is the county-owned airport in the West Trenton section of Ewing Township, about four miles northwest of downtown Trenton. It is about 2 miles from Ewing, 6 miles from Pennington and 13 miles from Princeton, usually around 20–25 minutes from Princeton without heavy traffic. Our Trenton-Mercer Airport car service is a pre-booked TTN taxi alternative: your ride is arranged before you land, with a written quote first.
A small airport with a short drive
TTN has one compact terminal and a short list of airline routes. That is its appeal. You can be at the curb a few minutes after leaving home in Ewing, Pennington, Lawrenceville or Yardley, and the walk from the door to the gate is short.
The flip side is that airline service at small airports changes. Routes come and go, and some run only on certain days of the week or in certain seasons. Before you book, check which airlines currently fly from TTN and how often. If the schedule does not fit, Philadelphia airport car service or Newark airport car service may suit you better.
Why pre-book a car instead of hoping for a taxi
At a small airport you cannot always count on a ride waiting at the curb, especially when a flight lands late in the evening. Rideshare wait times can stretch too. A pre-booked car takes the guesswork out of the trip home.
- Your ride is confirmed before you board your flight
- We monitor the flight, so a delay does not leave you stranded
- Your written quote lists the rate and any fees and gratuity up front
- Help with bags, plus child seats on request, confirmed in your quote
- Early-morning and late-night rides by reservation
For departures, a short ride also means you are not leaving your own car in the airport lot for a week while you are away.

Timing your trip to TTN
Shorter lines do not mean you can arrive at the last minute. Follow your airline's check-in and bag-drop cutoffs, and remember that a small terminal fills quickly when two departures leave close together. If a route only runs a few times a week, a missed flight can mean a wait of days rather than hours.
Here is a typical plan. For a 7:00 a.m. flight, you might aim to reach the terminal around 5:30 a.m. From Princeton, about 13 miles away, that usually means a pickup around 5:00 a.m. From Pennington or Ewing, 5:10 to 5:15 a.m. is usually enough. We suggest a specific time in your quote based on your airline's guidance.
Arriving at Trenton-Mercer
- Book with your flight number. We follow the flight and adjust if it lands early or late.
- Message us when you are off the plane. A call, text or WhatsApp message is enough.
- Meet at the curb or inside. Your chauffeur meets you outside arrivals, or inside the terminal near baggage claim with meet & greet on request.
Waiting-time terms are stated in your written quote. If your flight is diverted to another airport, which can happen at any airport in bad weather, message us and we will discuss the options.
Where riders go from TTN
The short distances make TTN handy for visitors as well as residents. Common drop-offs include:
Princeton
Campus visits, hotels and homes about 13 miles away. See our Princeton car service page.
Trenton and Route 1
State offices in the capital and the business parks along the Route 1 corridor, many within a short drive.
Bucks County
Yardley is about 4 miles from the airport and Newtown about 9, just across the Delaware River.
Booking a ride for a visiting guest
You do not have to be the passenger to book a TTN pickup. A parent collecting a college student, a host meeting a relative or an office manager arranging a ride for a visiting colleague can all book on the traveler's behalf. Book with the traveler's name, mobile number and flight, and tell us who should receive updates. Your chauffeur contacts the traveler directly after landing, and we can keep you informed by text or WhatsApp until the drop-off is done.
For a round trip, add the return flight to the same request and we include both rides in one written quote. If the guest is new to the area, add any stops they need on the way, such as a hotel check-in before dinner, so the quote covers the whole plan.
Private and corporate flights at TTN
Trenton-Mercer also serves corporate and private aircraft, which use private terminals on the airfield known as FBOs. These are separate from the airline terminal, so tell us the FBO name from your trip sheet as well as the tail number. Our private aviation and FBO transfers page explains how those pickups work.
Choosing a vehicle
A luxury sedan carries up to three passengers with two or three checked bags. A luxury SUV seats up to six with four to six checked bags, which suits families heading off on vacation. Space differs from model to model, so the quote names the class you will ride in. See the fleet. Riders from Ewing and Pennington and Hopewell are closest to the airport. To book, request your Trenton-Mercer quote or call (609) 598-2992.
