In short: New Brunswick is the closest town we serve to Newark Liberty: about 25 miles, usually around 30–40 minutes without heavy traffic. JFK and LaGuardia are about 48–50 miles. Ivory Route Limousine provides car service and limo service from Rutgers, the hospitals, the Livingston Avenue theaters and downtown hotels, always from a written quote.
New Brunswick to Newark airport car service
Of all the towns we serve, New Brunswick is closest to Newark Liberty. Rides typically use Route 18 or US-1 to reach the New Jersey Turnpike north, about 25 miles in all. That short distance makes Newark the natural first choice from the city for both domestic and international trips.
A short trip still needs a buffer. Turnpike traffic near the airport builds on weekday afternoons, and Rutgers move-in, move-out and game days fill local roads. We look at the day and time and suggest a pickup in your quote. For arrivals, we monitor your flight and meet you at the curb or, on request, inside the terminal; details are on our Newark airport car service page.
Rutgers campuses, commencement and game days
Rutgers University–New Brunswick spreads across several campuses on both sides of the Raritan, each with its own traffic patterns.
College Avenue
The campus closest to downtown, with the College Avenue Student Center as a common meeting point.
Busch Campus
In Piscataway, home to SHI Stadium for Rutgers football and for the university's main Commencement ceremony each May.
Livingston Campus
Also in Piscataway, home to Jersey Mike's Arena for basketball and large events.
Commencement in mid-May brings a surge of family travel into town, and so does move-in in late summer. If relatives are flying in, book the airport pickup when you book their flights. For football and basketball, our concert and sporting event transportation covers drop-off and a set meeting point afterward.
Hospitals and the corporate core
New Brunswick is a medical city. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, at One Robert Wood Johnson Place, and Saint Peter's University Hospital, at 254 Easton Avenue, and families of patients often travel in to visit. We bring relatives from the airport or train to the hospital or a nearby hotel and back again. We provide passenger transportation only, not medical transport.
The city is also home to the world headquarters of Johnson & Johnson, which draws business visitors throughout the year. Our corporate car service handles airport transfers, meetings across town and same-day returns to Newark.
Livingston Avenue theaters, hotels and the station
Livingston Avenue is the city's theater district. State Theatre New Jersey, an 1,800-seat hall at 15 Livingston Avenue, presents concerts, musicals and more. Next door, the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center opened in 2019 and houses George Street Playhouse and Crossroads Theatre Company. A car for the evening means no parking deck and no late drive home.
Downtown hotels sit within a few blocks: the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick on Albany Street and The Heldrich on Livingston Avenue. New Brunswick station, at Albany Street and Easton Avenue, is on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor Line. Our train station car service meets arriving trains and handles the last mile to a hotel or hospital.
New Brunswick airport transportation to JFK and LaGuardia
New Brunswick is also the closest of our towns to the New York airports. JFK is about 50 miles, usually around 65–85 minutes without heavy traffic, and LaGuardia about 48 miles, also usually around 65–85 minutes. Both depend on the crossings into New York, so we choose the route on the day. See the JFK car service and LaGuardia car service pages.
Manhattan, MetLife Stadium and the cruise terminals are close too. Midtown is about 38 miles, MetLife about 34 miles and Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne about 31 miles, usually around 40–50 minutes. Our long-distance car service covers city trips by the ride or by the hour.

Choose the vehicle by the trip. A luxury sedan suits a solo traveler heading to Newark or a visiting executive. An SUV handles move-out day or a family with checked bags. An executive van carries a visiting team, a wedding party or a group headed to a game, and a stretch limousine fits proms and galas. Our fleet page compares seats and luggage space.
