Princeton to Newark airport car service
For most Princeton travelers, Newark Liberty (EWR) is the practical airport: it has the widest choice of nonstops and it is the closest of the large airports. The usual route is US-1 north to the New Jersey Turnpike. Philadelphia International is farther from Princeton than many people expect, about 54 miles, so it usually makes sense only for a specific flight.
We monitor arriving flights, so your chauffeur adjusts if you land early or the plane is held on the runway. Meet & greet at baggage claim is available on request. Terminal-by-terminal pickup details are on our Newark airport car service page.
Where we pick up in Princeton
Princeton is compact, and most pickups are a few minutes off US-1. Tell us the exact entrance, whether that is a side door of a campus building, a hotel lobby or a home with a long driveway, and we note it on the trip so your chauffeur goes straight there.
Downtown and Palmer Square
Nassau Street, which is Route 27 through town, plus Palmer Square and the Nassau Inn. Good for dinner pickups and hotel guests.
Campus and the station
The Princeton station on Alexander Street, where the Dinky shuttles to Princeton Junction, and McCarter Theatre Center on University Place across from it.
Institutes and seminary
The Institute for Advanced Study on Einstein Drive and Princeton Theological Seminary along Mercer Street, for visiting scholars and speakers.
Residential sections
The Western Section, Riverside, the Witherspoon-Jackson historic district and homes off US-206, which runs through town as Stockton Street and Bayard Lane.
Princeton's calendar shapes demand
A college town has peak weeks, and Princeton's are predictable. Late May brings Reunions and Commencement, with Commencement held at Princeton Stadium and tens of thousands of alumni and families in town over a few days. Late summer brings move-in, and the holidays bring a steady rush to the airports.
Culture keeps evenings busy too. McCarter Theatre Center runs a full season on its two stages, and the Princeton University Art Museum reopened in its new building on October 31, 2025. If you are hosting visitors for a lecture, a show or a dinner on Witherspoon Street, an evening car lets everyone relax without searching for parking.
For visiting faculty, recruiters and executives, our corporate car service covers airport pickups, meetings in town and the ride back, all on one account.
JFK, LaGuardia and New York from Princeton
JFK is about 66 miles from Princeton and usually around 85–110 minutes without heavy traffic. LaGuardia is about 63 miles, usually around 80–105 minutes. Both depend heavily on bridge and tunnel conditions, so we choose the route on the day and add more buffer than for Newark.
Many Princeton travelers weigh the train against a car for these trips. Our guide to Princeton to JFK by car service vs. train compares transfers, luggage and timing. When you decide on a car, see the JFK car service and LaGuardia car service pages for pickup details.
Other Princeton airport transportation options
Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) in Ewing is about 13 miles from Princeton, usually around 20–25 minutes without heavy traffic. Its airline schedule is small and changes, so check your airline first, but when a flight fits, it is the shortest airport run from town.
Philadelphia International is about 54 miles, usually around 65–85 minutes. Princeton travelers pick it for a particular nonstop, a fare that beats Newark, or a trip that continues south. If you are flying private, Teterboro and the smaller regional fields are covered on our private aviation and FBO transfers page.
Whatever the airport, the quote you receive is for the whole trip, not a meter. If your return flight changes, tell us and we adjust the pickup.
